The Abacos and Lubbers Quarters Cay
White sands with emerald seas
Abaco, the second largest and longest island in The Bahamas, is best known as a yachtsman’s paradise. Abaco and its Cays are scattered over 130 square miles of aquamarine water. Its two major islands, Great and Little Abaco, have a myriad of small cays flanking the mainland.
The Sea of Abaco between the islands allows for excellent sheltered cruising. Abaco, located in the northern Bahamas, its waters abound with fish, including marlin and sailfish. It also has bonefishing flats. Abaco is the third most populous island in The Bahamas and bears a resemblance to New England from which it attracts so many of its visitors and winter residents.
Marsh Harbour is the commercial centre located on Great Abaco. The first settlement on Abaco was settled in 1783 by 600 Loyalists refugees from New York, fleeing the newly independent United States.

Lubbers Quarters in the Abacos
Our Island Lubbers Quarters is particularly well positioned in the Abacos
It is centrally placed between Marsh harbour (with its groceries, Airport and many other businesses) and Hopetown/Elbow Cay with its cute streets and restaurants.
It is quieter than the bustle of Hopetown or the traffic of Marsh Harbour and it affords private docks/slips for ease of boating.
You can wander our practically deserted beaches and yet access the fun of Tahiti beach or the restaurants on Elbo Cay.
If you fish we have our own flats or the Tiloo cut is right opposite straight to the Atlantic with deep drop offs within 1/2 a mile of the cut.
Lubbers is protected from the Atlantic winds and swell by Tiloo Cay,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clearwater. We are probably one of the only guests that didn’t have a boat, but that didn’t stop us from experiencing paradise. We
used Island Concierge out of Albury’s Charters for groceries and Albury’s picked us up and dropped us off from Marsh Harbour, directly to our dock. Chad, the caretaker,
was extremely helpful. We walked to Cracker P’s and enjoyed some much needed quiet time by relaxing on the beach.
Relaxation
The house is very nice. Great location. The residents on the Lubbers are very nice and welcoming. The owners, Sue and Arthur went above and beyond for us. Very
thankful that we found this place.
Perfect getaway
We had a great time staying at the cottage. Arthur and Sue were kind enough to meet us at the dock upon arrival, and made sure we got unloaded and docked very
easily. The cottage itself is adorable, and really has everything you need. We cooked every night, saw amazing sunsets within a five minute walk, and were able to "island
hop" with our boat very easily from this location. We caught snapper and triggerfish off the dock, and saw all kinds of marine wildlife as well. Beautiful island with a laid
back feel, we cannot wait to go back!
